The proposals

Larkfleet Homes are preparing a full planning application for circa 109 new homes at the site.

The key elements of the proposals are as follows:

  • A development comprising of 109 new homes of which a proportion will be affordable;
  • A mix of house types in varying sizes. These range from 2 to 5 bed homes;
  • Vehicular and pedestrian access from Upwell Road through an upgrade to the existing access point;
  • Additional pedestrian links to surrounding footpaths and existing connections;
  • Outward facing development along key footpath routes;
  • New areas of landscaping and public open space including a centralised area of open space and a Local Area for Play (LAP) which acts as a focal point of the site;
  • Retention of existing vegetation and landscaping where possible;
  • The rear access of existing properties adjacent to the site on Upwell Road will also be resurfaced;
  • New Sustainable Urban Drainage features to address surface water drainage which can also act as important new wetland habitats to aid biodiversity aims.

The proposals have been designed sensitively to reinforce the built form of March.  The scheme design will be of a high quality and will respect the character of the area.
